Valfiemme, an important sole manufacturer headquartered on the Riviera del Brenta, has been producing soles and insoles since 1984, supplying prestigious national and international fashion and lifestyle brands.

In 2022, steady growth and market share gains led the company to start a comprehensive technological and process renewal.

As part of this ambitious project, in order to increase production capacity—which was necessary due to the constant growth in demand—Valfiemme moved from an area of 800 sqm to a 3,000 sqm production facility. This space increase came together with a major transformation of the logistics system.

Vertimag: renewed production processes in the name of automation

One of the company’s main objectives was to optimize, in the new insole department, the storage of the hardened and shaped steel sheets intended to be placed in the various insole models.

To meet this requirement, Ferretto guided Valfiemme through its transition to automation. Conventional static racking was replaced by Vertimag vertical automatic storage systems. Thanks to this solution, the company optimized space management by making the most of the available height and improved production activities by speeding up material handling and streamlining processes.
