In the new logistics hub of 6,000 square meters of covered area in the province of Rome, the leading company in the distribution of products for the Office market has installed Ferretto automated vertical warehouses to manage shipments to its dealers quickly and dynamically.

The change that the distribution market has undergone following the pandemic has led the company, which employs a staff of about 80 people, to approach the printing, consumables and related services market more decisively. This challenge has been successfully met, as demonstrated by the significant growth achieved over the last three years.

A company reorganization for fast and flexible customer service

The constant growth and establishment as a leader in the distribution of Office solutions in Central and Southern Italy required Xpres to make a significant leap forward in quality to provide customers with an increasingly efficient, fast and flexible service. For this reason, the company initiated a profound internal transformation, still ongoing, with logistics reorganization as its flagship project. This reorganization has an ambitious objective: shipping products to customers within 24 hours of ordering.

With Vertimag, efficiency, precision and innovation to the nth degree

To meet these new logistics needs, Xpres chose Ferretto to support its automation and supply chain modernization process. The project was implemented in two phases: initially 5 Vertimag automatic vertical warehouses were installed, followed by 4 additional units. The resulting system occupies 156 square meters while providing a total storage area of 1,465 square meters.

Beyond space optimization, automation and the flexibility of Vertimag have made logistics management, order preparation and product distribution faster, more precise and more intelligent.

Many accessories to improve the work of operators

In addition to the advantages provided by Vertimag automation, the supplied accessories have significantly improved operator efficiency and working conditions. The sliding console keeps the panel PC within easy reach, guiding operators through tasks. The alphanumeric LED bar identifies the exact product to be handled, ensuring simplicity, precision and speed during order preparation.

To support order preparation activities, Put & Go trolleys equipped with Put-to-Light stations direct operators through visual indicators. Finally, the Ergo-Tech bay ensures optimal ergonomic working conditions, even during intensive picking operations.
