Since replacing the original automated storage system with three 12 metre high Logimats, the RAF have not only gained more efficient storage and retrieval of their documents along with improved speed and efficiency, they have gained an additional 190 sq M of office floor space once occupied by the old system.

The new Logimat system is housed externally in a structure, built slightly taller than the existing 3 storey building and 3 metres out from the wall and made accessible by a walkway.

The To enable the operator to reach and select the items at the rear of the chosen tray (820mm deep) and to conform to their health and safety requirements, the RAF chose to fit the ‘Logitilt’ option.

This option allows the tray to be tilted up to 45 degrees at the consultation point. (The tilt can be user defined) this provided a practical and ergonomic solution.
